Community Making: Building Leather Sneakers

This workshop held in Chicago's historic Pullman community offered a unique creative opportunity for community members to engage in a leather crafting workshop. Tapping into rich cultural histories, the workshop was designed to break through social and ability barriers. It empowers participants as makers. Participants designed, chose leathers, followed shoe making patterns, cut, and sew by hand, making their own pairs of fitting leather sneakers.
